Topic 1: Introduce Yourself

July 23, 2018

We all have a unique story that makes us who we are. Whether it’s a hobby, a hometown, or a best friend, there is always something important that helps us identify our sense of ‘self’ in the world. Your first assignment is to photograph something that defines you (i.e. career goals, personal life, hobby, social, etc.). When taking photos keep in mind that this is what YOU see, so it can be abstract or it can be straightforward.

Topic 2: Hometown

July 30, 2018

What do you find to be interesting about your hometown?

Almost everyone you meet at Chapman will have come from another part of town. Even if two people come from the same place, they have a different perspective of their hometown. To better understand where your fellow peers are from, your second assignment is to show us what you think is interesting or unique to your hometown (i. e. buildings, people, landmarks, etc.)

Topic 3: Panther Pride

August 6, 2018

What makes you excited to be a panther?

Each and every one of you has worked so hard and dedicated a portion of your life to academics and extracurricular activities in order to one day attend a prestigious university. Luckily, Chapman is one of those prestigious universities, located in a beautiful area with wonderful people. This week, think back to that moment when you knew you wanted to be a Panther and try to recapture that moment using your camera. It could be an image of Orange (if you're local), it could be a picture of Chapman's website, it could be anything! Be creative!

Topic 6: Orientation/First Week

August 27, 2018

“What did you discover during Orientation or your first week of class?”

With Orientation and your first weeks of classes under your belt, how are you feeling? Did you discover a favorite meal in the caf? Did you meet a new friend in class? Find out about an exciting project that will happen during the semester? Did you ask someone for directions around campus? Orientation and the first weeks of school can be exciting, intimidating, enjoyable and maybe a little stressful. This week, please take a photo of something that you think represents these exciting first experiences at Chapman University.
